Lane Kerns, President & Chief Investment Officer
Lane started his career as a financial and pension consultant in 1962. He built two large
pension companies from scratch before founding M.L. Kerns & Associates, LLC (a pension
consulting and administration firm) in 1986 and Kerns Capital Management (a Registered
Investment Advisor) in 1994. Lane majored in accounting at Wichita State University,
has an M.S. in Financial Services from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania,
and is a graduate of the Purdue Pension and Profit Sharing Institute. He has spoken
extensively to business and professional groups throughout the United States. He
has also served on the summer faculties of the University of Connecticut, the University
of Colorado, and the University of Puget Sound, teaching retirement planning for
businesses and professionals. He is lead Portfolio Manager of the KCM Macro
Trends Fund.

Marty Kerns, J.D., Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer
Marty represents the new generation of a business that has evolved from family roots.
Prior to joining Kerns Capital Management in the Spring of 2007, Marty spent the better
part of 15 years practicing law, becoming a partner in a large firm and honing the analytical,
problem-solving and management skills that serve him well as an investment adviser, money
manager and pension consultant. Marty also serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.
He obtained his business degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and his law degree
from South Texas College of Law.

D.H. Land, BBA, MBA, Investment Analyst
David has a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Houston.
While completing his Masters studies at the University of Houston, David served as a senior portfolio manager and trader for the University of Houston Cougar Fund, a multi-million dollar private investment fund managed by graduate students participating in a Financial Services Program. As a result, David also received a Graduate Certificate in Financial Services.
Prior to joining Kerns Capital Management, Inc., David worked as a Research Associate for Belding Financial Resources analyzing mutual fund and exchange traded fund investments for a multi-million dollar investment portfolio. David holds a series 65 Uniform Investment Advisors License.

Mark Ellender, Operations Manager, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
Mark has over
twenty years professional experience as a Software Developer and Network Systems
Engineer and over fifteen years of experience in Customer Relations and Team Management.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and his Master of
Science degree in Mathematics from McNeese State University.
